Enhancing the customer experience is a high priority of utilities in 2003. According to the North American Utility Website Monitor, the fastest growing applications, content, and features on utility Websites today are (in order of growth):

The survey, performed by Texas Systems, included 150 Websites of investor owned and public utilities in the United States and Canada. UtiliPoint International has automated the survey results in an interactive online database available to subscribers. Utilities are beginning to return to the basics and focus on customers in their home territory. Many are adding Web-enabled services for their customers.

Trends are based on comparing mid-2002 survey results with early 2000 baseline survey results. Charts you select are created on-the-fly from these survey databases. The complete set of tools to build your charts can be found on the Site Map for subscribers.

For analyzing departmental activities, charts can be created by commodity served, utility type, or utility size. Individual profiles for each of the 150 utilities are also included. Survey data is updated online every quarter.

“This is a great tool for our utility and non-utility clients,” said Jon T. Brock, COO of UtiliPoint International. “We have been working with Texas Systems to deliver this valuable survey data in an easy-to-use, secure, online format for our customers and are very pleased with the results.”

“We have been working with UtiliPoint International for some time now by compiling multiple years of utility Web site survey data and presenting it in a logical, easy-to- understand format,” said Jeff Frauenheim, President of Texas Systems. “UtiliPoint's unprecedented access to executives, legislators, commissioners, and analysts in the energy industry make this a strategic fit for our company.”
